This project is not a reconstruction of the past or an ethnographic illustration. It's an artistic development of memory: a journey from oral tradition to a visual archive, from a living gesture to an image that endures through time. The denim in this work is interesting to me because it feels like recycled cotton, a material with its own biography - one that has already lived through one form and then been reassembled into a new one.
